Favourites

Well, this is interesting. I decided to record myself drawing, and well, it's not going so great. It seems like whenever I draw for a purpose, my muse just NOPEs right out of there. It's a good thing I'll be speeding the footage up or it'll last forever.

Anyhow, my main purpose to this journal is two things.
1) Does anyone have an pointers for this sort of thing?
2) Would anyone be interested in watching the footage once I'm done?

Hello! I got a notice saying I was mentioned here merrimiesh.deviantart.com/art/…

I wanted to say that I'm glad you like my concept of kaigles (and kaigunellies if you've had a chance to look at those), and you're quite welcome to create some of your own if you wish =)
You mentioned having a similar idea at one time and I'm curious to learn more about that too if you don't mind discussing it.

I've already started designing a few kanins, but I'm lazy and using your base. >~<

My idea was actually more similar to your kaigunellies, though I am in love with the concept of kaigles. I had the idea of these little imp-like creatures that embody different aspects of creation like painting, drawing, sculpting, sewing, singing, etc. At first they have no physical form and are more just spirits. When they find a person who they like and who compliments their personalities, they attach to that person's aura and can manifest a physical form, usually influenced by the thing they represent, their person's personality and their own personality.
They'll stay with their people for the rest of that person's life as friends and muses. It's rare but sometimes a person an have multiple of these little spirits for any given aspect, one way this happens is that occaisionally one will stay with a family for generations, only changing slightly for each new person.
The other thing I had come up with at the time are 2 subspecies - cousin species might be better - representing imagination and artblock.
The imagination sprites tend to be much smaller and more childlike. They find their people at much younger ages. They rely much more heavily on their person, since if a person looses their imagination and creativity, the sprite can get sick, and eventually even die. Rarely the sprite can be called back, but it's difficult and the sprite will always be weaker than before.
The art block sprites tend to be more bug-like and sickly looking. They don't actually rely on people at all, and instead attack the creativity and imagination sprites.

I had a couple sketches at one point but I think I lost them.

Wow, that's impressively similar! I'd like to see some sketches if you find them again, or if you have the time to redraw them.
Your art-block sprites sound a lot like an idea I've had about kagunellies and kaigles but I haven't really developed much yet. Basically they become corrupted, turning a pleasurable and constructive activity into a destructive one, though this depends as much on the condition of their owner as the individual kainins. This explains people who use activities in grotesque and violent ways, and who perform the activities obsessively to the point when they neglect other aspects of their lives. No longer are the person and their kainins working harmoniously.

And of course I'd like to see your own kaigunellies and kaigles when you finish them too.

Ugh, so my computer was busted for a week and a bit, I'll get back to working on my kanins and sprites asap. Kinda going through some life stuff right now though, so sorry for the wait.

Not a scam! Just spreading the word! Sorry! I know a lot of people do not like advertising on their art page, and for this, I apologize.
